SHADOW DAY

As a community service to eleventh grade students in Autauga County/Prattville, the rotary club conducts a career shadow day February of each year. This event is designed to give eleventh grade students an opportunity to meet with and observe a professional in their day-to-day place of work. Questions are answered concerning education requirements, work conduct and potential compensation.

School counselors are notified of this opportunity in November of each year. Using their allocated number of spaces, they select outstanding eleventh grade students to participate in the program. Students meet the morning of the event and are taken by rotary club members to their place of work for the morning. A luncheon is conducted to further discuss career selection and wrap-up the career day experience.

Eleventh grade students interested in career shadow day should meet with their counselor for more information.
