Prattville Rotary Club member and past president Jeremy Arthur has been named President of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce. Jeremy was Executive Vice President and interim President following the departure of the chamber's past president, Connie Bainbridge. Prattville Chamber Hires New President
April 13, 2011 (Prattville, AL) – The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce today announced that Jeremy L. Arthur has been selected to become the Chamber’s next President, effective immediately.
"Jeremy brings an excellent skill set to the position,” said Randy Grissett, Chair of the Board of Directors at the Chamber. “Our chamber board and leadership are impressed with his extensive professional experience and enthusiastic passion for the Chamber business. He received unanimous approval from our board of directors to lead the chamber. We found exactly who we were looking for, and didn’t have to look any further. We look forward to continuing to work with Jeremy at the Prattville Chamber in this key leadership role.”
Jeremy Arthur has held the interim president position at the Chamber since January 2011. Under his prior leadership as Executive Vice President since 2004, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce has strengthened the organization’s programs to create a pro-business work environment, focused on business growth and retention.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to continue the work at the chamber in this new role," stated Arthur. "The business community in Prattville has built a great Chamber and I look forward to advancing this strong organization."
Prior to joining the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce in 2004, Jeremy was an Outreach Research Associate for the Economic Development Institute at Auburn University. Through this office, he was responsible for several community assistance projects, particularly serving West Alabama, and administered and coordinated the Intensive Economic Development Training Course at Auburn University.
Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Auburn University. His graduate studies include a Master of Public Administration degree from Auburn University, with a Minor in Economic Development. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Auburn University in Public Administration and Public Policy and is included in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Jeremy is a member of several national organizations including the Board of Directors of the Auburn Alumni Association, and a member of the American Society for Public Administration, and the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. Jeremy was also elected to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Regents representing the Southeast Institute for Organization Management (IOM). Jeremy is also an active member of numerous statewide organizations including the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, and the Economic Development Association of Alabama, where he is currently serving on its Conference Committee. Jeremy also serves as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University. Locally and regionally, Jeremy is currently serving on the Board of Directors and as Annual Campaign Chairman, Autauga County United Way, is a member of the Autauga County Heritage Association, and serves as the Immediate Past-Chairman for the PASS youth drug use prevention organization (Peers Are Staying Straight), on the Advisory Board for Prattville Baptist Hospital, among many others. Jeremy also served as Chairman of Leadership Autauga County, and is a Past-President of the Prattville Rotary Club.
Jeremy is originally from Decatur, Alabama, and now calls Prattville home.
